Here is a copy of the letter I have sent to the Croydon Advertiser and the Guardian (local free paper).
Also sent an email to Richard Ottaway MP asking him to meet me on the 26th. Hope it helps.

Regards
Den

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a very proud and scared mum of a soldier serving in Iraq. I spend many sleepless nights and nail biting day's hoping my son is alive and well especially when I don't hear from him for a couple of days, or he doesn't open his emails. Like thousands of others I dread anyone knocking on my door, and panic at late night phone calls. I try to carry on as normal but the butterflies in my stomach are always there.

Did you know that Mr Blair has never met with any of the servicemen/women's families who have been killed out there. He has never been to watch as these boys/girls made their final journey home, or even visited those who have been injured.

On the 26/04/06 there will be a lobby to hand in a petition to Downing Street for Mr Blair to meet with the families. I think this is the least he could do. We will also be meeting our MPs at the House of Commons (hopefully I will be meeting Mr Ottaway) and laying wreaths at the Cenotaph.

There are many families in the Croydon area of servicemen/women who I am sure would like to attend but as the Forces offer no support groups for parents, they may not be aware that it is taking place. Could you please write a report in your newspaper about this lobby so they are made aware and hopefully we will be able to meet other parents in our area and offer each other the support we so desperately need.

The petition is online at http://www.petitiononline.com/MFAWAp06/petition.html

Yours sincerely
D. Bartle
