Letter to TB

RE: Afghanistan
I wrote to you on May 29 regarding clause 8 of the Armed Forces Bill. At the end of the letter I asked why our troops were also deployed to Afghanistan, another situation which had nothing whatsoever to do with this country.

At the end of my letter I asked how long it would be before the coffins started arriving from there too. Well this evening Mr Blair I got my answer. There are insuffucient words to describe my feelings. Yet another family destroyed by your policies.

I am the mother of a serving soldier, I am fiercely proud of our armed forces & the job they do but my understanding has always been that they are here to serve & protect this country Mr Blair, not be sent half way around the world on missions impossible. What on earth are you thinking of? It beggars belief.

I would urge you to rethink your strategies before we are left with nobody to defend us should the need arise.
